Spring Valley Commons is a 68 Unit affordable housing development located on Slinn Ave in Spring Valley, NY. The complex, designed by James Harb, is an amalgam of modern simplicity. Built on a challenging sloped site, the project utilizes the pitch to its advantage. The two story connected units divide into five buildings configured in a circle with a protected commons area in the interior. This large center court yard allows the children to play under the supervision by their parents looking out on the commons from their apartments. The location gives the residents easy accessibility to a satellite campus of Rockland County Community College, municipal buildings, house of worship and supermarkets.
